SEO Quick Reference Guide

This is a quick reference guide, a quick guide to seo, for people attempting to utilize Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The idea is that it very succinctly and quickly gives information about SEO for your website.

Keywords - Words that people looking for information type in search engines (Can be phrases as well)

<title> tags - Add keywords related to searches here, also appears across top of browser.

<h1> tags - Add keywords related to searches here.

<meta name="description" content="Insert text here"> - Add a suitable description, making sure to include keywords and keyphrases related to the site.

First paragraph - Google adds extra weight to the first paragraph in determining what a page is about, particularly the first sentence. Add keywords and key phrases here.

Pictures - Name the picture file a fitting description, with keywords in it. Also add some alt text using the code: alt="insert text here", inside the image tag.

Back Links - Back links are just links back to your page from other websites. Often, you will get a choice as to the text of a back link. Choose text relevant ot the material, if you choose a random name it will not improve your search engine ranking but choosing relevant text will.
