The Elder Scrolls Online Features

The general features that will be appearing in The Elder Scrolls Online MMO to be released in 2013.

Three Playable Factions

The game will feature three playable factions that players may join, each of which contains three different game races and have a general theme associated with them.

Aldmeri Dominion – Conquest and group-focused

Races: Altmer, Bosmer, Khajiit

Daggerfall Covenant – More conventional and neutral fantasy group

Races: Bretons, Orcs, Redguards

Ebonheart Pact – Focused on individuality

Races: Dunmer, Nords, Argonians

Mass PvP Battles

The vague aim is to include up to 200 people in any single battle. The idea is meant to be that the three factions are warring for control of Tamriel (the world of the setting) and that players are fighting for territory and land. 200 players in a single battle is a very large number and should prove interesting.

Public and Instanced Dungeons

While instanced dungeons, in which only a specific group of players may enter at a time and another version is generated for the next group that comes along, are not so uncommon it is interesting that public dungeons will exist. In essence, it means that you may run into other players as you explore the dungeon, perhaps even enemy players which might well prove interesting.

In-depth Lore

The Elder Scrolls has a ridiculously over-developed lore and with all or most regions of Tamriel being included it might well be an overload of lore and cultures. At the very least, there will be a lot to explore in the game.

Novel Leveling System

The leveling system of the game seems to be one of the more original parts of the games with a mixture of standard leveling and gaining experience with whatever you are using. If you use a long-sword, you will get better with a long-sword but only to a point. Furthermore, the finesse with which you do tasks effects leveling progress.

Players Crowned as Emperor

Somehow related to the faction wars it is entirely possible to be crowned as emperor, though precisely how this works has not yet been revealed.

Crafting Systems

Crafting will play an important role, but little information is currently offered on the crafting system.
